This park is a great place for families, but it has a lot of stairs (360 to be exact). It’s a good idea to bring a baby carrier for little ones or have older kids tag along with you.

The park is a popular spot for those looking to relax and watch the sunset. You can catch a great view from the South Pier Lighthouse or one of the many beach volleyball nets located in the park.

The Grand Haven Lighthouse

When you stroll along the shoreline in Grand Haven, you can’t miss that bright red lighthouse shining above. It’s a reminder of how this beach town got its start.

During the 19th century, as Grand Haven developed into an important shipping harbor, a flurry of petitions for piers and lighthouses reached Washington. Congress funded a South Pierhead Lighthouse and a catwalk to light the entrance to the harbor.
